River Level and Rowing Restrictions

Until further notice only coxed senior boats permitted to row.
Currently the river is at 4m , upstream it appears to be dropping. I will write again on Friday to give you some warning on whether the rowing restrictions will change.
RED BOOK GUIDANCE FOR ROWING IN FLOOD CONDITIONS
1. All coxes and coaches must wear buoyancy aids.
2. No junior nor any senior aged over 60 shall be permitted to row scull or cox on a rising flood stream when the river is above the lowest of the large steps adjacent to the boathouse (marked in yellow).
3. Only tubs, coxed fours and eights (but excluding all juniors and novices) shall be permitted to row on a flood stream when the river is above the second large step adjacent to the boathouse (marked in orange).
4. No rowing or sculling will be permitted at night if the river is over the concrete apron at the bottom of the steps.
5. All pairs and sculls (including private boats boating from W.R.C. premises) must obtain permission to boat from the Captain (or a Vice-Captain in the Captain’s absence) if the river is over the concrete apron.
6. No boat shall go further downstream than the foot bridge when the river is above the lowest large step (marked in yellow).
7. Under no circumstances shall any boat row over Camp Weir.
8. The Captain is the final arbiter as to whether rowing or sculling is to be permitted.
